Hosting My First Giveaway!

As part of Sew Grateful Week I'm hosting my very first giveaway! (I know I'm a day late.) I have really enjoyed the variety of giveaways hosted by other bloggers. I've entered a bunch my self but have never won. Today's post is a way for me to show my appreciation to you, my dear readers.

I've collected a nice little stash of vintage and not so vintage sewing patterns but have come to the conclusion that I'll never get around to using all of them. The same goes for some of the fabrics in my stash.

My giveaway will include one of the following patterns and 2 yards of lovely light pink cotton. Sorry for the dark photos, it's much prettier in person. :) The fabric is about 62 inches wide, light weight, and has a little white floral pattern. I think this would be perfect for a Valentine's Day outfit.

Fabric is a little more pink in color than this picture shows.

The winner may pick one of the following patterns. Up first is Quick Butterick Fast & Easy skirt pattern # 6036.

Next, another Butterick skirt pattern. Sew & Sew # 6005. Size medium. This is a super easy wrap-around style skirt that will fit a variety of sizes. I have used this pattern once before and it went together nicely. There should be enough pink fabric to make this skirt.

Next, we have a 1970s Vogue pattern. Very Easy Very Vogue 8131. Size 10, 32 1/2 bust, 34 1/2 hip. This pattern has two sleeve and two skirt length options.

The last pattern, and my favorite of the bunch, is Vogue 7369. Size 8, 31 1/2 bust, 33 1/2 hip. I have two copies of this pattern and I'm willing to part with one of them. This is a one piece dress with three different sleeve options.

So, which pattern would you pick? Do you like the fabric? This giveaway is open to everyone and will end February 10th. I will announce the winner on Monday, February 11th.

  1. I've been wanting fabric like that for a while now for a summer dress! And I think that the 60s Vogue pattern and the 70s Very Easy Vogue pattern is simply lovely!

    I followed you blog.

    Thanks for hosting!

  2. You are really nice to do this giveaway, thank you! I found you through sew grateful initiative, and am your newest follower. :)
I would really love to win, and would follow what you've suggested - sew the see&sew skirt :)
    Thank you!

  3. P.S. I have also liked you on FB as mariana e. postolache :)

  4. I love the fabric! It's so soft and perfect for spring and summer! My favorite pattern is the Vogue 7369. So perfect!

  5. I have to agree with you, that last Vogue pattern is divine. I can definitely see the sleeveless version of the Vogue pattern made up in the pretty pink fabric. Lovely for summer. Thanks for the great giveaway.

  6. I'm not much of a pale pink clothes person myself, but my sister is and it'd be fun to help her learn how to sew this summer! I really like the 70s Vogue pattern too--I've been meaning to sew more autumnal type dresses.

  7. I love the last pattern also and I think I would use the fabric for that. Allthough I am just learning to sew so maybe that fabric is not correct hahaha trial and error! I am now following your blog

  8. Hi there, I would be interested in the last Vogue pattern as well, Vogue 7369. I will follow your blog with Google Friend Connect. :) I have no idea what I would do with the fabric. I have never sewn with eyelet type fabric before. will have to google how to work with it :)
I am having a sew grateful giveaway on my blog as well!

  9. Much to my surprise, I wasn't already following you (I was subscribed via Google Reader) but I am now. Like Maryall I would follow your suggestion and use the fabric with the See and Sew pattern. I think I have some white flannel-backed satin that would do well as a winter slip underneath, maybe with a lace edging left over from my mother's kitchen curtains and a few tiny pink or red ribbon bows to peek out at the bottom in keeping with the Valentine's Day idea.

  10. I would love Butterick 6036 and that fabric is gorgeous! I am looking for simple patterns and that Butterick looks like something I would sew and wear.

  11. I think I will make a skirt with the fabrics. I love the first or the second skirt patterns.
Thanks for the chance to win :D

  12. I am interested on the last pattern.
Love the color of the fabrics too.

  13. I love the Vogue 7369, and think it could look quite nice in that eyelet. Thanks for the giveaway!

  14. if I'm not too late I'd like to enter the see sew pattern is my fav, thanks
