I'm constantly saving images of historical and vintage clothing. Today I have some absolutely killer 1940s suits to share.
This first one is a real treat for sure. I love the little grapes - or are they cherries? - on the jacket. Pictures of this suit are definitely being saved for a future project.
This one has a nice western feel don't you think? It isn't my style but I thought it was a neat piece. I believe it's linen and the one above is either wool or rayon.
This Lilli Ann suit offered by
The Cats Pajamas was available back around Christmas time, not sure if it's still for sale. I love the diamond pattern.
Be sure to check out these killer beaded suits on Etsy too! Swoon! The first one for sale by
Fab Gabs is making the rounds on Facebook. No beads but the little red accents are great!

Oh my goodness! These suits ARE killer! I've been looking for a 40s suit in my size, and any of these would do any day! I especially love the first one. It's so sassy!
ReplyDeleteLove this post. I can't believe how cheap the first suit went on ebay. You really have to look and there are some wonderful deals out there. I hope you are able to sport some 40s styles to share with us:) There is nothing like vintage tailoring. I think this is why I gravitate towards the suits because I feel less risk buying them, especially when they are so nicely made. This and vintage coats are my downfall..oh did I mention vintage shoes too?
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, especially the first one and the grey suit with the diamond pattern!
ReplyDeleteJealous!!! WOW! Love the green one. It's perfect for St. Patty's day. You must be tiny. They look so small. What a great find. Congratulations!

Thanks for your comments ladies! I almost won the green suit on Ebay but missed out at the last minute. Ah well, at least the pictures are free. :)
ReplyDeleteI have a 40s plum colored suit that I recently pick up but have yet to wear. I'm thinking of styling it with green gloves.

Sensational suits!!! Wow! These beauties took my breath away again and again with each dazzling image. From the bugle and seed bead detailing on the purple one to the grapes on the Perry Brown number, I adore all of them and their truly special, stylish, creative details. Thank you for sharing these gems, honey!
